Chapter 22: Court Part 10

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Ethan's lawyer, a man who was supposed to be one of the best in the business, was trembling like a leaf outside the police station. His usually impeccable suit was rumpled, and his bow tie hung crookedly around his neck. He looked like a man on the verge of a breakdown.

Gery, my lawyer, approached him with a confident stride. He was a tall man, with broad shoulders and a commanding presence. He wore a tailored suit that fit him perfectly, and his hair was slicked back in a neat style. He placed a comforting hand on the other lawyer's shoulder, and I could see the man visibly relax.

"Nice bow tie," Gery said, trying to lighten the mood. But the lawyer just smiled weakly, and I could tell that something was off. It was as if he knew something that I didn't.

I had always known that Gery was a famous lawyer, but in that moment, I felt like there was more to him than that. He seemed to have a certain power and authority that was impossible to ignore. H
