Twenty-fourth Run

Liam and Bradon talked for a while about crystal nuclei, and when they saw that they didn't get an answer, they put it off.

Not long after they settled down for a bit, after they took a rest, a distant sound of hurried footsteps echoed through the mall. This caught Liam's and Brandon's attention. Liam immediately frowned because of the noise, and when he turned his eyes, a man came sprinting towards them, fear etched across his face. Behind that man, seven mindless zombies staggered, drawn by the sounds of footsteps and the scent of fresh prey.

Mindless creatures cannot smell, but when there are wounds, they know if there is food or not.

Liam crouched under his breath. He didn't think that after they fought there would be something else, with the situation intensifying rapidly. Liam's chest continued to pound.

"Brandon, that fucking bastard owns a company," Liam said under his breath.

He clenched his fist and didn't know what to feel. He was still tired; he hadn't rested much, and now
