Chapter 23. unexpected

Jessica and Mark arrived at the hotel half an our before the meeting. Mark had booked a private booth. Once they settled in Mark ordered a few tequila shots.

"Here, this will take the edge off", Mark said as he handed her the tequila. Jessica seldom drank. She knew after 3 shots, she probably will be tipsy. She drank the first one to please her boss.

"Mark, I don't really drink, probably by the third one I might be a bit tipsy and ruin your meeting",Jessica said declining the second shot.

Mark smiled. That is what he had wanted. The email he received from Mr Pie yesterday was quite specific and he knew if he could deliver it, the deal would be sealed.

"Just have it, you won't ruin a thing. In fact it might just open you up to a whole new world of possibilities", Mark smiled handing her the glass again.

Jessica drank both shots, one after the other. She felt it burn in her gut but she liked the feeling. She was now tipsy and mellow. She smiled and laughed and really loosened up.
