I stumbled back when the resonating sound of the gunshot rang in my ear.

"Damon?" I whispered.

I heard the groan and then a thud, my heart tightened, and fear gripped me. I felt goosebumps all over my body.

"Damon?" I called out again.

"Damon!" I yelled out when I didn't hear anything from him.

My body froze, this is all my fault. I hung up and quickly wore my clothes, stuffed all my clothes insidetravelingling bag, and rushed out of the apartment.

I muttered to myself, saying a quick prayer for him to be okay.

"God please!" I whimpered.

I hailed a taxi that would take me straight to the airport.

"Taxi!" I yelled.

They all passed by without a care in the world. I stomped my foot hard on the ground in frustration.

"Oh, God!" I dragged my hand across my face.

If something happens to Damon then it would be my fault, who answers calls in the middle of work, anyway?

A yellow taxi stopped right before me, a woman was running to enter when I blocked her.
