Gifts (Parker POV)

The moment that Kiera and I were alone, I knew we needed to talk.

It made me sick to think of everything that Elenore had done to her. Everything that she forced her to do. She didn’t even have to tell me why she knew where the vampire was; I could feel it. We weren’t fully mated and marked yet, but those kinds of emotions are strong.

I’d kill Elenore all over again if I had the chance. Some people deserve so much more than a quick death.

I closed the door to our bedroom, pacing back and forth in front of where Kiera was sitting on the bed.

“I’m sorry,” she whispered softly.

I stopped pacing, furrowing my eyebrows, “For what?” I stared at her in shock.

She glanced up at me, her green eyes filled with emotion, “Everything,” she muttered. Her eyelids fluttered closed as a tear streaked down her face.

I walked over, kneeling in front of where she was seated on the edge of the bed, “Look at me,” I whispered. She swallowed hard, opening her eyes. Even bloodshot from tears,
