Turning myself in

I hesitated a moment before heading to Kai’s office. Seeing another one of our people taken by this man infuriated me.

In my heart, I knew he wouldn’t stop until he got what he wanted.

Me.

‘We are strong enough, you know?’ Iris stated, and I agreed. We were. We could do this.

I could tell from the moment that he’d spoken to me in my dream; he was the kind of man who didn’t take no for an answer. He also clearly didn't make baseless threats.

The money was the reason he started on this mission, but showing dominance over werewolves was the reason he’d kept going. I was a bonus. I could see it in his eyes. When he smelled my scent, his eyes glowed red.

Vampires signed a treaty with us long ago, and typically weren’t a problem. But over the last hundred years or so, there have been a few that have strayed from the path of peace.
