Zane’s POV

“You might be under the illusion that you’re queen over all here, and I may allow you from time to time based on our history, but make no mistake, that is not your place here, and you do not have any right to question me on who I speak to,” I said calmly while Morgan pouted even harder and then rolled her eyes.

“Jeez, I was just joking. Why are you so sensitive about this slave?” she muttered, and a fire lit in Zane’s eyes. However, he didn’t say anything to address it, so I kept silent, too.

“We can discuss what you want in my office,” he said before giving Tessa a strained and apologetic smile as she left.

I leaned back in my chair and leveled Morgan with a cool look, which she smiled sheepishly at.

“Am I in trouble?” she teased playfully, but I wasn’t in the least bit amused.

“You need to leave,” I said, and she blinked at me.
