Zane’s POV

Helplessness was the word I never thought I’d ever feel until the second I pushed open Tessa’s room and found an empty space.

My hand that was holding the doorknob loosened, and my eyes fell on the open window where the curtains were being blown by the wind.

Rushing, I held the window frame and looked down, only to find some broken twigs on the ground, falling from the tree a few feet away from the room.

I slammed my hands hard on the window still and cursed.

Glaring at Dmirtri, I remarked, “And you call yourself a trained warrior?” I pointed outside, “How can an omega escape you!”

He looked down in shame. “I’m sorry, King Zane.”

“Will that help? Go and find her!” I shouted, making him jolt, and ran out of the house.

“That’s what you get for being harsh!” my wolf scolded me.
