"I'm sorry," he apologized again. Lara gulped.

Brad tried to calm himself too. Seeing their mate hurt was hard on them. He had to turn away from her to get his beast to calm down.

Cage sighed and sat beside her, his meeting totally forgotten. "Why don't you take the day off? We could be with you and take care of you."

"No!" She refused immediately. "I'm fine, I thought we said we were not going to announce our bond."

"We won't be announcing it. Although I'd love to," Brad turned around and said.

"We could just be here for a while with you," Cage added.

"No, I don't want that. There are a lot of people outside waiting for you already. I think it would be better if you would leave. Act like nothing happened."

Lara stood up from the bed. Staying there would not help her cause. She could already see the flickering gaze of Brad between his beast and him. Laying there could only lead to one thing.
