Chapter 81

CLAIRE's POV

It felt like my body was on fire. I tried to breath, but it only came out as laboured gasps. My vision was pitch black, no, my eyes were closed tight.

I could hear a familiar voice calling out to me. It was a pleasant voice, one that I loved to hear. I tried to open my mouth in response but I could not. It was like my body had been injected with lead and I was unable to move.

What was this feeling. Was I going to die?

“Claire!”

My eyes shot open in an instant and a familiar ceiling appeared in my line of vision. I blinked twice as I tried to clear my blurry vision.

“Claire?”

The voice called my name once more and turned my head to see Dominik, seated by the foot of the bed, a blank expression on his face.

I pushed myself up into a sitting position and my vision spun as a wave of nausea hit me. I groaned and grabbed my head as my vision began to steady.

“What happened?” I asked as my eyes trailed to Dominik once more.

Dominik got up from the floor and folded his arms.
