DOMINIK": POV

My attackers were relentless and did not spare me a single breath. They attacked me as a group and the pattern in which they used struck me as weird.

It felt like they had isolated me intentionally, but what was their goal? My eyes trailed to Luis who was fending off a small group of about three men.

Who the fuck were these people?

I felt a sword bore into my sides and I groaned. My head snapped into its direction and I picked the attacker up by the throat, throwing him down to the ground.

The cloaked man stood up from the floor as if nothing had happened. I growled in anger. Not only were they relentless, but they were durable. It felt like I was not battling a being, but more of a machine or a controlled puppet.

I turned to the overturned carriage and was glad that Claire was still safe within. I focused back on my attackers and charged at them relentlessly. Even when I tried to move away from them, they would block my path and charge their swords at me.
