CLAIRE's POV

Battered. That was the only way I could describe how I was feeling at the moment. I was crushed. I felt like I had been thrown against the wall countless of times.

I stood at the entrance of the pack house where Dominik had left me with another girl. I was frozen there, in a state of shock and disbelief.

What had gone wrong? I thought things were going good between Dominik and I, but it seemed like I was totally wrong about that. Was I the only one that felt the connection between the both of us? Had I been lost in my own delusions, a delusion where Dominik had finally developed feelings for me?

My eyes burned with tears at the harsh reality. Dominik had gotten a bride, and even more so, when I was being held captive. Had he planned on replacing me all this time?

The tears that pricked my eyes spilled out and my chest became heavy with sadness and an unending sorrow. How could he do this to me? How could he hurt me times without number and not even care about how I feel?
