Chapter 99

CLAIRE's POV

My blood ran cold. I hoped and prayed that he was not the one standing behind me. As I turned around slowly, my heart began to race.

My heart dropped when my eyes fell on Dominik. I hoped and prayed that it would not be him, but the moon goddess had fallen deaf to my prayers, as always.

Dominik looked visibly angry and annoyed. Beside him stood Luis, who was giving me a disappointment look. It was then I really began to access the situation. I turned back to Cora and realised that my hands were still on her collar.

As I looked up at her, I noticed tears had slipped down her cheeks. When did she start crying? I quickly let go of her and in an instant, she sobbed and ran towards Dominik.

I snapped my head in their direction and the sight I beheld was enough to drive me insane. Cora had flung herself on Dominik and her head rested on his chest. I looked further down and saw that Dominik had looped an arm around her waist.
