Chapter 39
Clavier stood by the bedside as he watched Stefano healed Adeline. After the battle with the Angel of Death ended, Adeline chose the life of a nomad to redeem herself for what she did. Not only did she side with the Angel of Death, but she also caused great suffering to those close to Stefano. Their marriage had hit rock bottom ever since. Clavier knew that Stefano already forgave Adeline but the woman could never forgive herself no matter how hard she tried.
“Putting her life like this….You have to do something,” Clavier said.
Stefano looked longingly at his wife. He missed having her standing by his side. The castle felt cold and empty without her in it. He knew he did the wrong thing when he kept Mira by his side while casting his wife away in the time loops but it was the only way he could think of to protect Adeline.
