LORENA'S POV

Another day to smile and pretend like everything was alright when in fact, it wasn't. This was the perfect description for my workplace now- a place for fake smiles and awkward encounters. It was bad before but with the truth known to everyone involved, it became worse. I needed no soothsayer to tell me that it would be really awkward at the office today.

I hoped Mr Railings wouldn't show up today. I prayed for an urgent, important meeting that would take him out of town, or better still, out of the country. But my prayers weren't answered.

Guess who I ran into in the elevator? Yea, you guessed right. Of all the people I could've shared the elevator with, it had to be my father. The silence was loud, too loud, and I was getting tired of facing one direction -the direction where he wouldn't be in my view. My neck was starting to hurt.
