Cassandra's POV

I wake up in my bed, with a banging headache and sire dry throat. Which was how it usually was anytime I drank but I don't remember ever tasting alcohol in the last few weeks. I opened my eyes and saw what was not the canopy of my bed.

Everything was hazy, and I couldn't quite make sense of it all. But one thing was clear: I felt grateful to be alive. I turned my head as much as I could and I saw that this place looked too clean to be my room, too white even. And not that I was a dirty person, it was just that, this place smelled like antiseptic and rubber.

It all came flooding back, slowly at first, like a trickle of water and I moaned at the pain I felt with the returning memories. I moan must have stirred up my mate because Alder stood up at attention from his sleeping state next to me.

"Cassie?" He called out loudly at first then softly when I winced at the sharp pain I felt in my ears. The pain traveled to my head and disappeared.

" Cassie, baby are you okay?,
