Chapter 56: A Visit from my Mother
“Here Dante!” I shouted in response to his call out to me.
He came barreling down the stairs with a smile plastered across his face. I smiled when I saw how lit up his face was just on seeing me. That made my heart soar!
“Everything is set up and ready for tomorrow. Are you ready for bed, sugar?” Dante asked me as he came to sit next to me on the sofa I was sprawled out on.
“Hmm? Me? Oh! Yeah! I’m tired…I had the weirdest dream…” I started to tell him about Callen and Selene and then, something inside me said not to say anything, so I stopped talking.

The family barbeque was enjoyable to say the least. We received many strange stares from pack members as the three of us, Callen, Dante, and I, laid in the large lounge chair together. As we reached the first border, Jackson began explaining, “This is our southern border. You never want to go past these borders. Not only will you find yourself in Mexico, but you will also run into the cartel’s guard dogs, the Chupa Cabo Pack. They’re vicious and ruthless.
