Chapter 1

Gina felt energized when she finally reached the house, and she smiled at her efforts. She had greatly surpassed her previous feats of jogging and a part of her knew it was because her anger had nicely tipped onto a boil and rolled over. Still, she felt grateful for it and refused to acknowledge Henry as he came behind her, panting like a dying cat. She would have laughed at his weak efforts, but she wasn't in the mood for it, and besides, she already told him off so there was no reason to act friendly now.

As she headed upstairs, her phone began to ring and she pulled it out to see a text from her longtime friend. The girl was in the city for some days, and wanted to hang out. Gina smiled as she moved towards her room, happy there would be a small break from her mundane life.
