For a moment, Henry was too stunned to say anything. There was no way his mother could fully explained her words to him that he understood, because now he felt for certain she was only making excuses. How could she tell him that she wouldn't be able to give him control of the company and other properties until she was fully sure of the marriage? At this point, he could no longer understand and a part of him tried not to feel betrayed at their change of heart towards him. So instead, he shook his head and tried to ask her again. "What do you mean by that? Do you still think my marriage is a sham? You, of all people."
