171: Eating Garbage Food

I could not process what I had gotten myself into. Like, how did I just accept an offer I knew I couldn't fulfil? Just to escape death. What's the point of living when I can't afford a meal?

I gazed at my wristwatch and realized it was already nine o'clock in the evening. Upon noticing this, words could not express how excited and happy I felt because it is time to go out to fetch something to eat. I had been feeding on garbage for the past week.

As I walked out of the small kiosk store where I pass nights to the street to get some garbage for dinner, I glared around to see if the road was empty just so I could walk out of the street. This was because I could not afford to take the disdainful glares I receive from people whenever I walk out of the street because of how I look these days. I had grown thinner and more dirty.

As I noticed that everywhere was quiet, a smile crept onto my lips. My stomach had been buzzing out of hunger.
