CHAPTER 33: Jealous

Nala’s Point of View

“Hugo…” I called out to him as I nestled in his arms, holding onto his waist tightly. We were both still naked under the white blanket.

“Yes?” he replied.

“Can I ask you something?” I hesitated.

“Sure, go on,” he said, gently running his fingers through my hair.

“I’m curious about your tattoo. Can you tell me what it means or if it has any meaning?” I asked him. I slowly traced his tattoo, which covered the upper part of his biceps.

I remembered seeing it for the first time when we were on the yacht heading to Cambodia.

He took a deep breath. “It means power, strength, and courage,” he said. “Behind that tattoo is a scar.”

I furrowed my brow and looked up slightly. “Scar? What do you mean?”

“1 year ago, my dad planned to kill me because he wanted to get back to his former position. He planted a bomb in my car. All of my men died, and I was the only one who survived. I suffered third-degree burns and stayed in the hospital for one and a half months.” His jaw clench
