Chapter 3 The Unexpected

"Good morning, ma'am," Natalie greeted me as I entered the lobby—the receptionist who's always kind and has feelings for me.

She is gorgeous, kind, and sweet. I met her once during a company outing.

I still remember her wearing a swimsuit that showed her excellent body shape and beautiful and innocent face. Yet, I can't imagine myself falling despite her attention implying to me.

I was so fucking blinded, loving my best friend, and could no longer see other beauties around me.

~~~
I was busy analyzing the documents for the new branch to be opened in my office. Someone's knocking on my door with an urgent.
Today, I never thought it would happen, doubting it like it was just kind of a prank. My gaze turned to my secretary when she entered as I was holding papers.
"I'm so sorry for the disturbance, Ms. Hannah, but someone in the lobby is looking for you, compelling." it seemed serious as she stated it.
Anna is my secretary who handles my schedules and sometimes does client transactions.
She is reasonable and intelligent, finishes her work on time, and never causes me a problem. Perhaps She mastered it as she works first in our company than me, knowing every detail perfectly.
"Can you connect her on the phone, Anna? I'm too busy to go down just for it." Looking intensively at her.
"Go ahead, Anna, please," I said with irritation as she continued to stand like cherishing my words, then nodded as she went out shortly.
[Anna's Point of View]
"Natalie kindly connects it to Ms. Hannah, whoever is looking for her, because she's not in the mood. It looks like it's her monthly period, though," I demanded in annoyance.
"But Anna, she's a major client, and she said they have meetings today. I must say she won't leave until she meets Ms. Hannah. Didn't you check your boss's schedule?" Nathalie shouted at me on the other line as she banged the phone.
Natalie is slightly jealous of me, to think that aside from Billy, Ms. Hannah's best friend. I'm always next to her. Of course, I'm the secretary, but nothing more. No personal feelings, only work.
~~~

"Ms. Hannah, according to Natalie, she's a major client, and you have a meeting today with her," Anna whispered, looking hesitant as her voice mumbled.

[Hannah's Point of View]

"What? Seriously." I uttered as my brow creased, looking at my checklist, thinking if I missed an important one.

I avoided jumping to conclusions and expecting unwelcome visitors as I remember that girl from the one-night stand telling me we would meet again.

"Anna, you're my secretary. You should be the one to know that. Try checking again." I ordered her as I couldn't look at it out of focus.

"But I did. How many times, Ms. Hannah? It's none ", Anna answered hesitantly but was frank.

"Oh shit! Fine, I'll go down now. What is wrong with that person who can't talk on the phone? Is that so important? He better make sure; if not, I will throw him away." I smirk as I stand up, annoyed.

~~~
Exiting the elevator, I was shocked as I limited my steps, talking to myself like I was dreaming.
Is this real? Is that her? A familiar face was standing gorgeously in front of the reception desk, wearing seductive sleeves with a short skirt with a matching stiletto, all in black. The whiteness and smoothness of the skin came out even more with a matching shimmering necklace and elegant earrings.
By the way she looks, I can say that she's from a wealthy family.
What is she doing here? How did she learn it was my company, or did she already know? Is she a gold digger?
But that's impossible. There is no track of being ordinary in her look. Is it her plan, after all, at the bar, to flirt with me because she knows I'm a big catch?
Have I been fooled again? Are all the people around me just playing with me?
Suddenly, silence faded with her soft but intimidating voice, "Hey, are you all right?" while waving her hand in my face because I was an idiot for almost 10 seconds.
"Yeah, of course, yeah am yeah yes, I'm fine, I'm good, I'm okay," She chuckled as I stuttered.
"What are you doing here? How did you end up here? What do you need from me? Are you serious?" I asked her one after another.
She laughed outburst that made me wince in astonishment. I planned to change my SIM card, but she did not even know where I worked.
"What's so funny? I'm asking you, Ms., what you are doing here." I asked, showing my irritation as my cheek turned red and my eyebrow met.
"What? Don't tell me your father didn't say anything to you at all?" surprisingly asked.
"How Am I supposed to know that? We haven't talked yet. And how did you know my father?" She smiles, looking at me as she bites her lip.
"Are you stalking me? Is that why you're there at the bar?"
"What's wrong these Days? What kind of shitty things is happening? Am I dreaming? Or something?" as I whisper in the air.
"How the hell should I know what you and my father talk about? Asking you means I don't have any idea, don't you think." with sarcasm in my voice.
"Oh! Shit! Are you my father's mistress?"
"Oh! Are you here to say you're pregnant, and I am the culprit? Is that so? "I asked her philosophically.
"What are you saying? I'm not his mistress, and I am not pregnant. Besides, I do the act," I felt like I was going to faint as she mentioned it, exposing what we did in the hotel.
Natalie looked dumbfounded at the two of us, who seemed surprised if we had a secret relationship. Good thing, She won't say anything about other people's lives.
The woman smiled, then abruptly kissed me, stopping me from talking, so I slightly tasted hers.
I was surprised and unable to react, disgusted by what she had just done while Natalie was staring.
"I will just go back the next day or maybe once you are already cooled down." she teasingly smiled.
"Oh, say Hi to me too, Tito Mike," told her greetings as she went away. She even knows my father's name. What is she, and who is she?
After that incident, I was in a hurry to finish all my work to confront my father. He should think about his excellent alibi by now. This time, I won't forgive him.
[Ally Point of View]
After spending the night at the hotel, I reached out to Dad, asking him who I needed to marry.
Then, shockingly, He mentioned Hannah Spaughton. That's how I ended up knowing everything about her.
I wanted to see her again, but it didn't go the same for her. Being against marriage lessens the burden as I have known it would be her.
I might sound selfish, but I can't sway my father, either. Even our 2nd meeting didn't go well. It was satisfying that I tasted her sweetness again.
There was some strange speck in my heart meeting her as I saw her in formal attire that made her look refined, and I can't deny she was gorgeous, spiking my excitement a little.
