Chapter Seventeen

“Take it!” I yelled. “If you want it so bad, then just take it.”

“Don’t you think I would’ve done that a long time ago.” Eugene scoffed and I chuckled. This man is unbelievable. How on Earth did my mother land herself someone like this?

“You know. I never knew why mother wanted nothing to do with you.” I chuckled bitterly. “But now it’s obvious. I thought that the first thing a father would do for his daughter, after not setting his eyes on for a very long time, would be to apologize for not being in her life, explain why he was absent and make an effort not to do the same shit again. But it is clear you are not a father.”

“I never wanted you.” Eugene stood up quickly, tossing the chair in the process. “I told your mother a long time ago that if she wanted to have you she could go ahead, but she should not expect me to be in your life.”
