When Maddox called me, begging that I check on his daughter, he had no idea that this was a perfect opportunity not just to be with her, but also to find out who that boy Killian was.

I was so happy, like a child on Christmas morning, and got off my bed, whistling with excitement. The rain and thunderstorms meant nothing to me as they didn't affect me, both in my human and wolf form.

However, just so that Lenora wouldn't begin to suspect, I used my car.

"First things first," I said to her after I'd calmed her down, "Your stomach is empty. You need to eat something. Why don't I make you some ramen noodles?"

"Okay," she said weakly. I was used to cramps and shenanigans from my daughter, although Lenora was a little less intense than Mariselle because she was human.

"Where is the kitchen?"

She pointed behind her, and I headed there. I filled a plastic water flask with hot water, screwed on the lid, and made Lenora place the flask on her lower abdomen, then I returned to the kitchen,
