"Miss Adine, how is she? It's been a few weeks since I've seen you," said a woman in her forties with her hair in a ponytail.

"I'm good, Ms. Nita," Adine replied. "I have some business with my husband. How is your father faring in my absence?"

"Your father has refused to eat several times and seems more moody than usual. He seems to be expecting you," Mrs. Nita replied.

The two women of different ages walked down the hall to the room of a middle-aged man, Adine's biological father, who had been sent to a nursing home by Mellisa - his second wife—Adine's stepmother.

The Rumah Singgah Saudara orphanage is a simple one-story building that houses orphaned and abandoned children and the elderly.

They reached the end of the corridor. There was a room measuring about 3x2.5 meters. Adine stopped at the open door. She found an older man staring out the window, sitting in a wheelchair.

"I'll leave you here," Mrs. Nita said, leaving Adine with her father. Adine nodded and looked back at her fath
