Chapter forty six

Zirah's POV

The sound of the phone ringing was cutting into my sweet sleep time.

Seeing as it was the only time I could blot out my current nightmare with my kids missing, I was pretty upset with who was interrupting my sleep. I opened bleary eyes to a blurry ceiling. I had to blink thrice before I stopped having double vision.

I reached over to pick up the phone, forgetting that I wasn't in my former bedroom and I didn't have a bedside table in this room. Meaning the phone was on my bed.

Noah and I had a huge fight a week ago and since then I've been sleeping here to spite him and because I needed some distance, thinking he would even come to me but I haven't seen him since. I didn't even hear anything from him or the men that work with him about updates on my kids.

I looked at the screen and saw Damon's name flashing on the screen and immediately any sign of sleep ran away from me and I was fully alert.

With shaky hands, I pressed answer and placed the phone in my ear.

"Hello.
