Chapter 3

《Eliza POV》

Tingles everywhere. I felt them very strongly as I slowly came too again which could only mean one thing. My mate was with me. I slowly open my eyes and look up. There he was, looking down at me. I could see the joy in his eyes before I moved away. “Stay away from me… please,” I ask.

“You're alive? You're awake?” he questioned. I nodded slowly and he smiled like his world had been complete again. Everything I wanted was right here in front of me, but all I could hear was my heart pounding like drums in my ears. “What's your name?”

My name.. he asked for my name. I could barely get a comprehensive thought together with the sparks that were flying through me from being so close to my mate. "Eliza," I whisper.

"Eliza," he repeats as if it's the most amazing thing he's ever heard. I nod. He gets off the bed and walks over to me, cupping my face. I wait patiently to learn his name and he seems to realize that after a few seconds of silence. "Where are my manners?”

'Considering you're touching me without permission, I assumed you had none-' I think to myself. Celeste growls at me for making such a comment about our mate. She was ready to lay down and let him mate, mark and marry us right now if he so wished. I on the other hand was hesitant to believe he'd want me.

"My name is Kyle." I swear my heart skips a beat and I have to stop myself from listening to it roll off my tongue. Another nod and I tried to pull away again. He pulls me to him tighter and sits on the bed with me straddling his lap. The door slammed open, making us both jump and me scramble away from him.

A short woman with short blonde hair, cream colored skin and pale green eyes stared at us. She was really pretty and I wondered if this was his sister or something. My gaze wandered to his face and it seemed impossible, even if they were half siblings because while me and Dami had different moms, we had similar features because of our dad and they did not.

Kyle was tall with dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. His skin was more sun kissed and had this slightly warm glow. My eyes wandered down to his arms, which were searching for me, and all I saw was muscles. They weren't those excessively HUGE muscles you generally see bodybuilders with, but... they were nice and looked comfy.

Images flashed in my head of being held in those arms, or being pinned beneath them. Celeste took that time to show a few other things we could do with our mate and I squeezed my legs together to come to the realization that my jeans were gone. They couldn't be! Had he mated me while I was unconscious? I mean it happens sometimes with people who's wolves had more control than they did. My wolf assured me he had not touched me.

"Who the hell is she, Kyle?" the blonde asked. Hurt was evident in her voice, making me look at her. Fear and panic ran cold in my veins as I started searching her neck for a mate mark, but to my relief, I found none. Wait. Why was I relieved? It's not like he would mate or mark me. "Stop staring at me like you don't know what the fuck I'm talking about!"

I looked her up and down and had a sneaking suspicion that she was dating Kyle. Before he could get a word out, she walked over to me and raised her hand. In the next second she slapped me forcefully, making my head turn with such violence I saw stars. "Don't you touch her!!" Kyle seemed to yell, standing up. Another man came in, glancing at me with surprise before gently grabbing the woman.

"C'mon Samantha," he said, pulling her out. She was crying, her eyes filling with hatred. Sometimes this curse hated me more than anything.

Kyle turned to me, pulling my face to his and looking me over. I pushed his hands away. "Stop that! Stop acting like you care," I say bitterly. Hurt flashes on his features and Celeste starts trying to take over to soothe him.

He opens his mouth to say something and I shake my head, moving to find my jeans. Someone had tossed them on the floor on the other side of the bed. Bending over, I picked them up and turned around to find Kyle gone. Just what I thought. Disappointment filled my heart, but what did I expect?

I quickly get dressed again, deciding I would wash the blood out later, and left, quickly finding the stairs and hurrying down them.

The pack house was beautiful, and pretty warm. I hated to think I would have to leave again. "Eliza, wait!" someone said. I turned around and could no longer breathe.
