Lucian groaned as he galloped into the clearing. His back and hands ached, but he believed it was all worth it in the end due to the price he had brought along with him.

He heaved a breath, climbing down from the horse, and turned to Connor, who he handed the rein over to.

"How did it go?" Connor asked him.

He had decided to go hunting to blow off some steam, and the pack house was running low on meat, too. It was not the annual hunt, nor was it the group hunt season. Many of the animals barely wander off during this time of the year, and Lucian was aware of that. But he often had his way.

It was the reason he had gone alone because he was sure if he had told Connor or even one of the Gamma, they might return empty-handed.

"Good," Lucian said, shrugging, and he pointed to the deers he had caught that were currently strapped to the horse's back.
