Emberlynn nodded and muttered, "Right."

"It's best you stop thinking about him. He's no longer worth your time, and I promise to be by your side all the time." Lucian said.

For the second time, Emberlynn nodded. He was promising her a lot of things. She wondered if he meant what he was saying or if he was just saying it to make her feel better.

Lily arrived a few seconds later, and Emberlynn turned to her as she bowed slightly.

"I don't know how you like your bath, ma'am, but I hope you can teach me," she said, her voice somewhat low and trembling.

Emberlynn was aware it was due to Lucian's presence. Everyone in the pack house seemed to be afraid of him despite the admiration they still shared with him.

"I'll leave you now," he stated, walking out of the door without looking back at her.

When he left, Emberlynn let out a breath and turned to Lily with a smile.

"Why don't you show me the collections of oil you have? I can make a choice from it," Emberlynn said.
