Chapter 29

Ariana's POV

I stood there, rooted to the ground in shock as I stared at the massive form of Alpha Derek on the raised platform in front of where we stood. He was dressed in a black robe with hair slicked back and a sword slung over his shoulder. He looked the picture of a true Alpha as he stared off toward the horizon, his whole body still like that of a stature. He never turned as teenagers began filing into the empty space in front of the pack house but I knew he could sense that he knew that people were even though no one standing outside had talked since they arrived.

Most of the teenagers had come outside in with laughter and chatter but as soon as they caught sight of the Alpha standing there with the aura of power surrounding him, they had fallen quiet at once. No one- not even the most hard headed of all the teenagers could dare to risk the Alpha's wrath. Alpha Derek hadn't even asked anyone not to talk but just his posture conveyed the message to everyone.
