Chapter 50

Ariana's POV

My jaw went slack after Claire's unexpected question and I blanched. What did she mean by that? That Henry and I were in a relationship? How was it possible? How did that come about? Henry and I were just friends. I barely even knew him and he barely knew me either. Before I could manage to say anything, Diana spoke before me.

"Have your seat, Ariana. You can't be standing like that," she said.

I gulped and then I nodded before I took my seat at my rightful place on the table. Finally my jaw wasn't slack again and my mouth went back to its proper position before I finally found my voice. "What do you mean by that, Claire? I don't understand what you mean," I said without any hint of hostility in my voice. Claire and I were past that stage now.

She fixed me with a piercing look before she spoke. "Don't you understand English? So you and Henry Callan, Diana's brother are in a relationship?"
