Ariana's POV

My mind reeled into instant shock as Alpha Derek asked me that question. Why was he still pursuing this line of question? What was the matter again? Had Henry told him something that had made him to doubt my own version of events? Or worse had Henry told him the main truth about the whole thing that had happened inside the library? Surely, he couldn't do that, or could he? Of course, he couldn't but if he did be was the one with much to lose here.

He was the one who had tampered with something he shouldn't have tampered with. My own blame in the issue was that I had lied to the Alpha and covered up for him. But I knew Henry, I thought. And I knew that he couldn't tell the Alpha the truth because he would be at the receiving end. I didn't even know him that much but I knew him well enough to know that he couldn't tell Alpha Derek the main truth of the matter.

I was lost deep into my thoughts that I didn't even realize that I hadn't answered Alpha Derek's question. I jolt
