FIFTY NINE
The warm air, the smell of the sea, and the sight of bikini-clad women with lei on their necks was pleasant for Richmond, who was sunbathing on the beach. The sun is shining very brightly today makes the holiday feel perfect. He occasionally shifts to the right or to the left when he feels his body is quite brown and reddish. Taking a deep breath of Seattle air, then exhaling it was painful for Calvin, who was still recovering from the shooting incident. The first thing Catherine saw when she opened the door for the bell ringer was a grim face and red eyes from crying too much. The smile on her face soon disappeared and was replaced by a worried look because she found Hazel coming home in a condition that wasn't what she expected. She thought Hazel would be happier after coming home from D.C, considering she'd gotten what she'd wanted all along, a chance to meet Kiev and ask about Calvin. But what she saw at this time actually looked worrying. Hazel's condition had become much worse than the last time she had seen her before she left for the airport full of joy. "The girls?" she asked wearily as she plopped down on the couch. She had tried not to cry the whole way from the airport to her apartment. And now she felt really tired like her energy had been sucked out of her body. "Still in school. Emily's home in an hour. It was the time displayed on his digital clock screen, but he had been awake since two hours ago. He'd brewed coffee, had breakfast bagels, and now he's doing some exercises with dumbbells in the mini gym at home. He shouldn't have to set an alarm just to turn it off and mock it because he wakes up earlier than the one he set to go off at six. But this is fun.
