CHAPTER 90: RECAPTURED

Caelen’s POV

I ran.

When the second one of the nurses came to tell us that Saul was awake, I bolted out of the room. The sensation I get in my heart is not one I could easily describe; I have only felt this way once before, and that was on the day Meredith was recovered.

It was something in between relief and joy; it made my heart feel warm. It was strange, but I loved it.

Roman followed closely behind me, and I practically kicked down the door to the infirmary. Our eyes fall on Saul, sitting on the bed and talking to Meredith casually. It was almost hard for us to believe our own eyes. He looked as good as new.

His blue eyes fall on us, and he grins. “Long time, no see, ladies.”

“You fucking bastard,” I say, feeling a sting in my eyes as I walk up to his bed and engulf him in a brief bro hug. When we pull away, Roman only gives him a brief handshake before stepping away from him.

“I know you ladies missed me,” Saul chuckles, wiggling his eyebrows playfully, and I roll my eyes.
