Half Demon

Athena POV

"Mate?" I asked with a high pitched tone to check if I was deaf.

"Yes noisemaker," Valentin replied with a smile that didn't reach those crimson eyes.

I swallowed hard wanting to avoid those scorching eyes but my eyes were failing to close themselves. The man in front of me was irresistible.

"I.. I am really your mate?" I asked again just to be sure and this time he nodded.

"Oh no!" I exclaimed with a whisper covering my mouth with my hands.

No wonder I was feeling so attracted to him. I mean the man was a breakfast, lunch, brunch, dinner, he was a delicacy but the attraction I was feeling towards him was mightily strong.

"I am impressed," He suddenly said caressing his nose against mine allowing his breath to fan my face that was surely flaming red.

"W.. why?" I stuttered and held my breath.

"You know who I am but you don't know who you are," He replied, his deep voice vibrating out of his chest seductively.

"Oh shit!" He was making me crazy. I couldn't think properly at all and my heart was racing. "Please back away." I begged hoping he would agree.

Smirking, he finally moved away from me and I heaved for air at the same time fanning my face with my hands. 

"Deep breaths Athena, deep breaths," I told myself breathing in and out not caring if he was watching me.

Looking at at him, I frowned and crossed my arms on my chest.

"Mr Valentin, I am not your mate I believe you have mistaken me for someone else." I told him speaking like a sophisticated woman. "And I know myself perfectly, thank you," I turned away to face the door and held the handle.

"I can never mistake my mate which is you, Athena Faris, and you don't know yourself at all." Valentin said earning a deep frown from me.

I turned to face him and sighed deeply. "Look. I have a job, a brother I just want to go back home." I said trying to put some sense into his head.

"Tell me about yourself." He unexpectedly said.

I took a deep breath of annoyance. 

"Athena Faris, twenty two years old, pole dancer, graduate..." 

"Half demon," He interrupted me.

"What?!" I exclaimed not sure if I heard him clearly but he looked serious.

"Half demon." He said again.

"Hu..man not half demon." I said drawing my words.

What on earth was he talking about and why did he look serious?

"You are an orphan who was found by Karol Faris." He suddenly said and I nodded slowly eyes wide open.

"Yes, how did you know that?" I asked suspiciously.

"He told me," Valentin replied, his expression suddenly look grave as he remembered something.

Karol told him? 

Did it mean that Karol knew Valentin Rostislav all this while? 

I was half demon?

"I do not understand." I was confused.

"You were just six when he found you. Though you were little, for a normal six years old human, he or she is capable of remembering a little of their past..." He paused and walked towards me placing me back in between his arms and leaning his face close to mine. "Do you remember anything?" He asked with a deep whisper.

My heart started racing again and of course, I couldn't focus instead I wanted to hug him tightly burying my face in his chest like back in the club.

I was sure that he noticed that I was staring at him but wasn't focusing at all. He chuckled deeply and moved away.

I cleared my throat and composed myself. 

Thinking about it deeply, I didn't remember how I ended up on the streets. I tried to think back but instead I received a sharp pain in my head causing me to groan in pain.

Valentin rushed to me and held me by shoulders. 

I wanted to scream as his touch ignited fire into my body. His touch made me loose focus once again.

"Are you alright?" He asked sounding worried, his forehead bore lines of worry.

I nodded rapidly and squealed, "Please don't,"

He chuckled and released my shoulders placing his hands in his pockets.

"I tried to remember but nothing.. my head hurt." I told him rubbing my forehead sluggishly.

He stared at me without saying a word and I just got lost in those crimson eyes that roared power.

Was I really half demon?

"I can answer your questions." Valentin suddenly said.

"How?" I asked interested.

He took a long step towards me once again caging me between his arms. His face was close to mine and he moved his lips to my ear.

"I am going to mark you." He whispered and my heart quicken than ever. His closeness and his words together, I was sure my heart was going to burst of my chest.

"N.. no don't." I could barely breathe at that moment.

"If you aren't my mate, it will disappear. If you are my mate, it will wake up your demon and you will be mine forever." He whispered, his hot breath fanned my ear and goosebumps rose out of my skin.

Did I really want to take this risk?

I knew I was his mate, what I felt exposed it all but I would also know my unexpected supernatural origin.

"Okay," My voice came out clear than expected and I wasn't scared at all.

"Very well," He whispered and pushed my hair to the side.

I shivered and closed my eyes as I felt his cold fingers trail on my neck slowly. 

I couldn't help my myself, I moaned and gasped in embarrassment closing my mouth with my hands.

Valentin hummed and grabbed my shoulders moving me from the door. I felt my back land on the soft bed and felt sharp canines gracing on my neck skin.

I wanted to scream in fear but I wasn't scared. My body felt prepared for him.

As he fangs graced on my skin, I could feel myself yearning for him. My heart and soul was going to be his and I would not hold any regret.

Two second passed and without hesitation, his fangs sank into my neck and it was the most excruciating pain I had ever felt in my life. My whole body felt like it was electrocuted and I couldn't scream, not even a whimper erupted from my throat.

His fangs came out of my skin and my eyes opened weakly seeing his gorgeous face close to mine. Blood stained at the side of his lips, his tongue reached for it and wiped it.

"Your eyes," He whispered and slowly dug his fingers into my hair.

"W.. what?" I asked weakly and that was when I felt my teeth that was more like fangs.

I was half demon!
