Aerian

Fuck, my head hurt! I opened my eyes and found that I was in a dark room. I could hear other people, but I could not make out who or where they were. I sat up trying to get my barring's.

“Fuck.!” I growled.

When I tried to stand up, I banged my head on an extremely firm surface. I sat back down as I rubbed my head. It was already screaming at me and hitting it did not help matters. I looked around again and that is when I saw that I was in some sort of cage. The room we were in was not completely dark, but unless you had vision like us supernatural's have you would not be able to see. There was one small light bulb hanging from the ceiling in the far corner of the room. I could see several other cages all of which held women. I could also tell that all the women here, except me, were human. I am not sure how I got mixed up in this trafficking shit, but here I am. I propped myself up against the back of the cage. There is not much else I can do. I need to see what and who I am dealing with. I cannot just break out using my powers with all these humans here. All the women looked to be around my age. That put all of them in their late teens and really twenties. I would have tried to talk to the women closest to me, but they had us spaced out just far enough that we could not whisper between us.

“Hey.” a voice said.

I turned around to see a girl that looked younger than me in a cage behind mine. Our cages were almost touching. I turned around so I could talk with her.

“Do not turn around. If they see us talking, they will move one or both of us. They may even take one of us out of here. The last girl to leave never came back.” she said.

“Okay, what is your name? My name is Aerian.” I told her.

“My name is Sofyia. Aerian, that is a pretty name and different. I like it. You are not like us, are you?” Sofyia said.

“What do you mean like you?” I asked.

“You are not human, are you?” she asked.

Okay that was not what I was not expecting her to ask. I had no idea how to answer. I had not been around humans that knew of the supernatural. I knew some did mostly because they were mates to our kind, but I had no personal experience with that.

“It is okay. My stepfather is the gamma, well he was, to the Blue Lunar Eclipse pack. My mother is his fated mate. I grew up in the pack.” she answered.

“That makes sense. Sorry I did not answer you, but I was not sure how. How was it growing up human in a wolf pack?” I asked.

“It was great. They were so nice. I mean you had few that were assholes, but nothing more than your typical teenage shit. My pack is different, they are not like some that are purists. We have a few humans in the pack. Our head warrior’s fate mate is a vampire who lives there. I know, vampires and wolves do not get along, but the pack was fine with her and welcomed her with open arms. Their son is going to take over for his father soon.” Sofyia told me.

“That is good. I have not had many good encounters with packs. Most are what you call purist, or their damn alphas are so power hungry. I am an angel.” I said.

“Wow, I have never met an angel before. I have heard of them and seen pictures but never seen one.” she chirped.

That made me smile. I could hear them coming before the handle on the door started to move. I told Sofyia to act like we had no idea each other was here. I wonder if the gamma had even figured out, she was missing yet. I bet when he does shit is going to hit the fan. Four guys walked in. I knew right away one of them was a wolf. I could smell the distinct smell of a wolf on him. He was not a rogue. He did not smell like rotting death. However, he also did not belong to the pack that I knew to be in this area. Niven did not smell like him. He was either from a different pack or he was a lone wolf. I was leaning towards lone wolf. A lone wolf willingly left their pack but never broke the link to the pack. They tended to keep the pack scent and link if they were close enough. Lone wolves usually left their packs because they did not like all the rules and regulations that a pack has. I did find it strange that a lone wolf would work with humans. They were inspecting each cage as they walked around. The girls were keeping to the backs of the cages or the middle so none of the men could touch them. I watched them as they came to a stop in front of me. The men looked in at me, but I just glared at them. I was not going to put up with their shit. They have no idea what I am capable of. The men walked on, but the lone wolf stayed.

“I do not know what you are, but I know you are not human. I am guessing they picked you because you are what they call an exotic beauty. What species are you?” he asked.

“Fuck off, I am not telling you shit.” I hissed.

“That is fine. I have a special buyer in mind for you. He is always looking for special or rare finds and something tells me you are the rarest of them all.” He drawled.

“Fuck you and fuck your buyer. I will never let myself be sold. I hope you know that one of these girls is the stepdaughter to the gamma of the Blue Lunar Eclipse Pack. I am not going to tell you which one. I wonder how you and your little friends are going to fare when they come for her.” I sneered.

He reached through the bars to touch me, but I made sure to give him the shock of his life. I literally shocked his ass. He let out a growl before standing up and stomping away. I could tell that what I had told him had made him upset. I hoped the fear alone in pissing off that pack made him think twice. I could hear him talking with the others as yelling broke out. A few hours later a few of the men came back through with trays of food and bottles of water. There was no way in fucking hell I was eating anything from these bastards. I made sure to use my power to purify Sofyia’s and my water. Who knows what they tried to put in this. I was right as I watched all the other girls start to fall asleep. I took a deep breath of the food. I could smell the drug within. I told Sofyia not to eat it, but it was too late. She was out cold. I wrapped the shitty little threadbare blanket around me as I rested my head against the corner bar. I knew I was not going to get much sleep tonight.

Two days, that is how long it has been since I have been here. I heard one of the other girls say that we should have been moved yesterday, but something was stopping them. I had heard some howling these last two nights. I have a strong feeling that what is stopping them is the pack. I bet they know she is missing and are out in full force searching for her. I was starting to lose focus. I was not eating for obvious reasons, and it was so damn cold here. Angels do not do that great in the cold. Yes, I know the state I live in is cold, but I have the choice of getting out of it. There was no way for me to escape it being trapped in this little cage. The lack of light was not helping. Angels need light to thrive. Yes, even dark angels need light to thrive and here in this room we lack that minus that one little bulb that has begun to flicker threatening to die.

“Hey, do not close your eyes. Stay with me.” Sofyia begged.

“I am trying.” I slurred.

Sofyia is trying her hardest to keep me awake, but it is a losing battle. I have no idea how long I fade in and out of consciousness, but I heard a loud bang which somewhat wakes my ass up. I can hear yelling and growling, but once again the world starts to fade away. I cannot even keep myself up as I slowly fall to the floor. The growling which sounded far away a minute ago is now growing closer. I jump as the door to our room is torn from its frame. I try to look but it takes too much energy which right now I do not have. I can hear the snapping of bones. The pack came for Sofyia which makes me happy. I can hear someone bitching about the cold, which would normally make me laugh but right now the only think I can do is lie here.

“Over here.” Sofyia yells.

I hear footsteps growing closer as the clinking of metal, which I am guessing is the unlocking of the locks on the doors of our cages fall to the ground. I hear clinking outside of my cage which means they have freed Sofyia. I hear a growl as a pair of arms pulls me along the ground. As I am pulled through the door I feel a wave of tingles ripple along my body. They give me a little bit of warmth and the feeling of safety washes over me. I try to shift but two strong arms pick me up pressing me against a hard wall of muscle. The intoxicating scent of butterscotch and smokey hazelnut assaults my senses.

“Be still my dark princess. You are safe now. I am going to get you out of here. Take the girls to the human hospital and then burn this place to the fucking ground.” a rough velvety voice growled.

I press myself closer to him trying to gather all his warmth as darkness surrounds me.
