7 – Hope And Fear

The Mayor puffed heavily as he ran frantically into his home. Inside, the house was a complete mess showing all the tell-tale signs of a struggle. Around the living room, utensils from the kitchen was scattered. A knife with fresh blood that seemed to drip from its evil blade lay ominously in the center of one table.

“ Maria!! Maria!!!” he called his wife in a great panic as he climbed the stairs, racing towards her room.

Everywhere he looked, all he could see was blood and death. What looked like arterial spray covered the walls like a psychotic Jackson Pollack painting. Puddles of sticky red blood pooled around the bodies of his maids whose necks had been slashed indiscriminately.

His cold, clammy hands shook as he gingerly walked towards the room’s door, blood splashing on his trousers.

“ Ma…ria?” he called again, struggling to keep his glasses on his shivering sweaty face as he turned the door’s handle and slowly pushed it open. He hurriedly locks it while turning slowly fearing th

How do you view this chapter? Scary? just ok? not so good? I feel that, maybe, 12+ rating is not good for my book (especially this sub-story).
