Jennifer gazed into his cold eyes, her eyes growing moist from his icy demeanor. She had been overjoyed to see him standing, thinking he was perfectly fine. How could he believe she would reveal anything he didn’t want others to know?

Raymond released his grip on her throat and sternly warned, “You are not going to say anything to anyone until I want to tell them.”

She averted her gaze, nodding with her eyes lowered, fixating on his legs. He was towering and well-built, almost covering her small frame entirely. Raymond was undeniably attractive, exuding both charm and power.

“I won’t tell anyone,” she mumbled sadly, feeling her hopes shatter. She had thought their relationship was blossoming, but it seemed she was mistaken.

Feeling like his pet, controlled by fear, she obeyed him not because she was afraid but because her heart belonged to him. That was the only reason she complied.

Curiosity overcame her sadness, and she inquired, “When did your legs recover?”
