002-Rebirth

I slowly regained consciousness and watched an expensive chandelier hang above me. .

I lay on a silk sheet. It was as though I was in heaven. I felt so comfortable and happy.

Heaven, do I really deserve to be there?

I sat up, staring in disbelief at my surroundings.

This was clearly the bedroom I shared with Ethan in his mansion.

How did I return here all of a sudden?

I quickly pushed the bedsheet off, rushing to the bathroom to check my reflection.

It was still me. The beautiful Charlotte.

Ten years ago, I was still Ethan's Luna, with a beautiful face praised by all. I have heard the rumor that I am the most beautiful woman in my pack, but after spending so much time in prison, I became the ghost of myself.

Back then, as long as I smiled, numerous men would run over to me. And few will scamper away when they find out my wolf is runt.

I was dazed by the face staring back at me.

No way! Have I been reborn?

Before I could recover from the shock, the room door swung open. "Sis, last night, did you and Ethan?..."

I turned around to face her.

Seeing the bite in my neck, her sweet voice became sharper: "You guys slept together?!"

My heart skipped as I recalled the familiar scene. Not only was I reborn, but I have returned to ten years ago. The very week before Ethan and I got divorced.

Last night was the first time we slept together in two years of our marriage. The night he finally marked me as his mate.

I have always insisted on divorce since I was unfamiliar with the wolf bond. My wolf is the weakest, and most times I believe that I am just a human.

Ethan has always been considerate of my feelings and has never forced me. His wolf recognized that we were mates first, and I did everything in my power to counter that.

I was the beta's first daughter, and as at that time Ethan was still the Alpha prince, he was cold and indifferent to everyone, and I hated the fact that I was going to get married to a man like that.

I kept on refusing him until the day I stood up to my parents and talked back at them. I was forced. I was literally pushed into marrying him, and I can't stop blaming him for that.

During the last few months before our divorce, he endured all of my temper outbursts, and because I wouldn't want to see him, he would stay back at his office or work so late to make sure that I had slept deeply before he returned.

Everything that happened the previous night was Isabella's idea, as long as I drug his wine and found a suitable woman for him. Cheating would be a very good ground for our divorce.

However, I guess that when Ethan noticed that there was a problem with his wine, he refused anyone from touching him and tossed me into his room, locking the door behind him.

He didn't care about my cries and screams. He pressed me down on the bed, fulfilling his role as my mate for the entire night.

Everything that happened was so vivid in my head, and there was no way it was a dream.

"Big sis?"

I almost forgot that Isabella was still standing in front of the door.

"What went wrong? How did you end up sleeping in his bed anyway?"

"His bed? That's our matrimony bedroom."

"I'm just worried about you. Now that the plan is messed up, I wonder how long it will take for the divorce. You need to get away from him so you can get an eligible second chance.

I walk over to her, looking at the mysteriously transparent silk gown she was putting on.

"I'm glad he came to my room; what if he had seen you on this? What do you think we would explain to the pack and our family?"

She carefully bit her lips, trying to hide the guilt. "It was too hot yesterday, sis, and..."

"Was it that hot? It's the beginning of spring."

"Uh... Not... Not especially hot, though; maybe I caught a fever. But that's the least important now. Maybe we should try another way, like you running away from the pack and threatening to go rougue if he doesn't sign the divorce paper."

"That could be dangerous, Isabella. What if he doesn't sign it and I end up homeless? You know very well that father won't even accept to lend me a hand."

Isabella chuckled. "That won't happen, sis. I have been saving some money; you could have a good life. Really !"

There was silence. I just couldn't believe that all this time my little sister had brainwashed me. To think of it. She became so weird after I got married to Ethan, and she won't stop talking about how men dump their mate after they get pregnant or how the alpha's marriage crumbled and the wife ended up committing suicide.

"Are you still listening to me, Charlie?"

I smiled. Keeping my temper locked in. "I have heard you, Isabella, but you have to go now. I need to rest since I couldn't get any sleep yesterday night.

I saw her brows furrow in jealousy at my last statement.

"Go, I won't see you off."

I pushed her slightly out of the main door and locked it.

I could hear my own rapid breathing.

Everywhere became silent again. I turned to look at the room that I once shared with Ethan. I touched the warning silk sheet, which still had the smell of my mate on it.

Everything could re-start again.

This time, I will put in all my effort to make sure that the divorce never happens.

I have come back to love you, Ethan!.
