NEXT FOLLOWING MORNING

It was seven thirty in the morning when Joshua heard the voices of the outside their door.

Joshua groaned as he stretched.

Emily stirred to the sound of his noise.

Joshua yawn loudly and asked, “What time is it?”

Emily looked at the clock. “It’s half past seven. Nearly eight o’clock soon.”

“Oh, shift change, huh?”

“Yeah, I guess so.”

Joshua turned around to look at Emily and grinned at her and said, “How was your sleep?”

“Um, I’m good.”

“You slept like a baby last night.”

Emily scoffed and said, “You mean you slept like one. You’re the one who knocked out the moment your head hit the pillow.”

“Funny, I thought you slept first.”

“Yeah right. You were the one snoring away over there.”

“So, should I come over there to help you get some more sleep?”
