Chapter six

nothing good ever lasts it seems

 2 WEEKS LATER~

Miguel and I were currently naked laying with our legs intertwined in his bed eating takis and m&m's and watching Tokyo Ghoul with English subs for Miguel. I was into it surprisingly and understanding Japanese was a bonus perk for watching anime and I didn't need to rush my eyes over the subtitles. I drank my Modelo as I watched. Unfortunately I recently received a text message from Sergio telling me that I was ruining Miguel's life. Really? I couldn't see it. I was sexing him up every moment, every single night and I offered to buy him whatever he wanted. Plus we were getting to know each other pretty well. I realized that he was only seventeen but his birthday was coming soon. I texted him back telling him to fuck off I was busy watching anime with my soulmate. A loud pounding on the bedroom door made us both exhale harshly. Miguel paused the show and yelled, what.

"Open up brother, we need to go to the house and see what damage was done by your stupid gang pals, Rosa called and said it looked like someone broke into the house," Maria yelled behind the door. I furrowed my brow and glanced at Miguel. I'd forgotten all about that prick Jorge and whoever called me to save Miguel that horrible night. Miguel was frowning with dazed eyes.

"I'll be out in a sec, sis," he yelled back with a frown.

"What's on your mind," I questioned him. He glanced at me and shook his head, his bright eyes looking down from my probing ones.

"I'm going to shower and get ready to head out with my sister, you coming with," he asked me and I shrugged saying sure. I headed to my room to get ready and realized that my stomach was twisting in knots. The issue with Jorge had never been resolved by Miguel or the police. I chewed on my lip wondering what their relationship truly was. Were they a couple before I butted in? They were obviously intimate with each other, based on the call I received that night. The person mentioned that Jorge didn't get what he came for. By the time I was showered and dressed I was an emotional wreck. This was another reason why caring sucked, you end up stressing too much over the person your hearts attached to. I blow dried my hair and ran my fingers through it. I wanted a drink to calm my shredded nerves. Heading to the kitchen I stopped at my bar and did a couple shots of whiskey before going into the kitchen. I glanced to the side and saw Sergio looking at me with concern. He shook his head and exhaled harshly as he stepped closer.

"You look like shit boss, what's going on in that head of yours," he asked sternly, grabbing my shoulder in a bro hug.

"I'm acting like an insecure highschool girlfriend, I'm worried about Miguel going back to his old neighborhood and possibly seeing his old hook ups. What if he resents me for taking him away from them. What if he really loves one or all of them," I mumbled softly and buried my face in my hands. Sergio eyed me questionably and chuckled lightly.

"Get rid of the what ifs boss, the kid is your soulmate and you both were made for each other, you both are a perfect fit," he reassured me and I sighed uncomfortably.

"But he's so sexy looking now, his change has been stunning," I mumbled and Sergio shrugged.

"I don't float that way but you're also an attractive man, anyone would be proud having you hanging from their arm," he claimed and winked at me. He knew how to cheer me up.

"Thanks bud," I grinned and patted his face. "Sure thing boss." I heard as I entered the kitchen and saw my sexy man standing there dressed in ass hugging jeans and tight black green stripe muscle shirt that showed his firm abs. I cocked my brow and pursed my lips wondering what was up with his clothing choice. It advertised all of his perfect assets. Miguel eyed me curiously and smiled as he pecked the corner of my downturn mouth.

"He's jealous," Sergio blurted and I almost snapped my fingers to end his existence. He smirked at me and I rolled my eyes. Miguel was shaking his head at me with a grin on his face.

"I can't believe that someone as attractive as you still has insecurities," he said softly. I crossed my arms and scowled.

"I didn't until I started caring about your young sexy ass," I mumbled sourly and opened the fridge for a cold beer. I tore the cap off and guzzled it. Miguel eyed me in disappointment and my heart sank further into my gut.

"Sorry I'm such an inconvenience for you Sebastian, maybe I should stay at my old house for now with people who can trust me," he mumbled quietly so only my enhanced hearing could hear it.

"Fine leave, I'll never love you Miguel, I've never loved anything," I shouted watching his eyes begin to water. My eyes widened at what I had said. My heart clenched as he left the kitchen and headed outside to his sister's car. I swallowed uncomfortably and cursed at myself for my stupidity.

"Stop him Fool," Sergio yelled at me. I shook my head and sat at the table.

"I'll give him time with his homies, or whatever he wants to call them before I take him back, besides didn't you say I was ruining his life," I growled, waving my hand in the air. I grabbed another cold beer and sipped it slowly as I contemplated ways to kill the lovers in Miguel's past. I sent him a text message five minutes later saying I missed him and was sorry he misunderstood me, I didn't mean what I had said. I pressed send in my devastation, my stomach was hurting and my heart was pained as well. My eyes were teary and Sergio just watched me deeply concerned. I don't know how long I sat there but when Sergio returned to the kitchen he cursed loudly and quickly pulled out his cell.

"Pull yourself together Sebastian, you've got black mist circling around you and your eyes are glowing like flashlights," he exclaimed. I glanced at him blankly and gritted my teeth. I was in death mode fantastic, I thought and my mind returned to Miguel.

"Miguel's going to stay at his family's home now, it wasn't broken in thankfully, thought you should know, boss," Sergio mumbled and asked if I was hungry. I growled and snapped at him in an animalistic manner. I swiped my hand across the table making all the empty bottles fly across the room.

"Keep this crap up and my dad's coming tomorrow to help me deal with you, you big pain in my ass," he snapped and slammed the kitchen door shut. I chuckled at him and his foolishness. I opened the fridge and took my last cerveza out. I pulled my cell out of my back pocket and saw there were still no messages from my soulmate. A tear rolled down my cheek as I went to the drawer full of vehicle keys. I grabbed my Mercedes keys and hurried to the garage. Sergio grabbed my arm and pulled me back shaking his head at me.

"You can't drive, boss, you've been drinking for an entire day and a half without any sleep. Just call him," he said softly.

"Tell me what your relatives have said Sergio, what has he been doing the past 24 hours," I mumbled sourly. Sergio bit his lip and sighed.

"He's young, boss, remember that. They said that he left with Alejandro and Marcos because Jorge was looking for him and was pissed," he told me reluctantly. I stared into his eyes and thought of Jorge and snapped my fingers. Sergio gasped at the sight of Death before him and crossed himself. He knew that someone had just perished and said a prayer.

"You shouldn't be messing with the fates Sebastian, they'll fuck you up," Sergio mumbled softly and I snorted at him as I strolled around him and headed to my car. My black mist whipped around me and my glowing eyes cast shadows in the enclosed dark space. Sergio shook his head at me and didn't bother trying to stop me. He knew the stories of my heart breaks of the past, all of my caregivers knew. The garage door opened and I peeled out of the garage, hellbent on getting my boyfriend back. Thankfully it was dark outside since I was in full death mode and looked like a shadow person with wispy ends and two glowing eyes. I had to be careful because just looking at me in this form could cause heart attacks for humans and ultimately their death.
