Chapter 27
I felt Ellie stir close to me at the early hours of the morning. If she weren't a dog, I'd say she was heating up. Yesterday, after Lara's bursting in and telling me and Lucas that Ellie was sick, Lucas called the Vet immediately. It was just a case of stomach ache.
It appeared she ate something sugary or something harmful to her. The vet said it could have been poison.
"Ellie, good girl" I ran my hands through her soft hair slowly and heard her gave a little howl.
BANG! BANG!
Ellie sprung up on her feet in seconds and I jumped out of bed too and laid on the floor. It is usually the wisest thing to do during gunshots. You can never tell where the bullets are headed.
I heard Lucas door bang shut and I was happy he was coming but I heard his footsteps hurry down the stairs. He must have assumed I was still sleeping but I was awake. wide awake.
