66. Hurting His Girlfriend

Tallulah's POV

The low hum of the engine reverted through the air, the steering wheel underneath my fingers vibrating slightly, making my entire body quiver. I could feel a wave of fear crawling over my body as I pressed down on the turtle, the car's low him turning into a loud shout from underneath me.

My feet pressed down on the turtle gently, moving it towards the floor inch by inch, but no matter how much I stepped on it, the car remained static, its scream increasing by the second.

“It's not moving.” I protested, the frustration in me welling into something else.

“Uhm, why is that? Did you put a foot on the brakes?” He asked, his eyes peering past my laps to the turtle underneath my feet.

I knew I wasn't holding the brakes but I still confirmed, curling my toes to be sure my foot wasn't on the brakes.

“I'm not.” I answered.

It was either this car wasn't functioning properly or I wasn't doing it right. Maybe all I had to do was press the turtle more, and the car would move. My
