Chapter 28 Beating Hearts

Sophia laid face down on the large quilt-covered bed and screamed into the pillow.

"How dare he call me a whore!" She shouted angrily. She decided right then and there that she was not going to be his supposed girlfriend. She glanced up at the door, heard a light knock, and frowned. Scooting off the bed she opened the door to Faelon looking sheepishly at her.

"I am sorry for calling you that. I know you aren't a whore, Sophia," he mumbled softly. Sophia narrowed her eyes and shook her head.

"I don't accept that. What you said was cruel and uncalled for," she replied sadly and crossed her arms over her chest. Faelon was chewing on the corner of his lip and looking down.

"You have been causing a lot of hearts to beat and it's odd. Have you ever scented your true mate?" He asked and Sophia looked at him like he was crazy.

"Anthony has a really nice cologne but I haven't scented any other person," she mumbled humorously. Faelon huffed annoyingly.
