Chapter 49 The Untimely Save

Running his long fingers down his jawline, Thad used his necromancer abilities to put a sternness on his face to hide any indication of the lie he was going to tell Lucifer. It would have to be the performance of his life to convince him. He didn't desire his head to be removed from being caught. Transporting himself outside Lucifer's door he knocked briskly and heard the devil's chipper, "Enter." Opening the door, Thad was blindsided by Faelon's sudden appearance, shoving him up against the far wall.

"Where is she," he snarled with his nose pressed against Thad's. Thad could see Faelon's eyes shifting into his crazed beast. Lucifer was grinning like a fool watching his two highest ranks at odds.
