Chapter 14

The maids served the food elegantly as if they were practised for their lifetime to serve their masters.

Dareen raised his glass, filled with deep red wine, in a toast. "To family and friendship." As Dareen said, they chuckled.

"So cringey... Dad..." Isaias joked.

"You ungrateful brat..." Dareen glared at his son. Again the little laughter filled the room.

"Okay, okay... No more Melodrama anymore. Let's have dinner." Blake said.

The clinking of glasses and the chorus of "hear, hear" echoed through the room as they raised their glasses and took a sip, sealing their commitment to one another.

The dinner that followed was a culinary masterpiece. The aroma of carefully prepared dishes filled the air, and the conversation flowed as smoothly as the wine. They discussed shared memories, the joys and tribulations of parenthood, and the unique challenges of a father who had twins to take care of.

Icarus and Isaias, despite their imposing presence, proved to be engaging conversationalists.
