Chapter Forty-three

Brenda sat cross-legged on her bed, folding a pile of clothes. It was a mundane task, but her mind was buzzing with excitement. She hadn’t gone shopping in weeks, aside from her regular trips to the grocery store. As she neatly stacked her clothes, she couldn’t help but think about all the things she wanted to buy. Suddenly, Brenda paused and furrowed her brows. What did she even need to shop for? The thought left her feeling a little confused. But then, her mind flashed back to that morning when Damien had informed her about their shopping trip. Brenda had hugged him tightly, thrilled at the prospect of a day out.
