Chapter Twenty-seven

Brenda was enjoying her breakfast, sipping on her coffee while scrolling through her phone when she heard Damien’s bedroom door creak open, then footsteps approaching. She looked up to see Damien emerging from his room with a couple of duffel bags and his men trailing behind him.

“Good morning, Brenda,” Damien said with a smile as he made his way to the kitchen. “I’m heading out on a trip. Just thought I’d let you know.”

“Make sure everything is ready,” Damien turned to order his men outside. He then handed his briefcase to his driver before walking back to the door where Brenda stood.

Brenda was taken aback by Damien’s sudden announcement. It was unlike him to inform her of his plans, especially in such a casual manner. She was surprised that Damien was even telling her about his trip. Normally, he just left the house without any announcement and returned whenever he wished.
