Chapter Twenty-six

Brenda stormed into Carla’s place with a thunderous expression on her face. She threw her purse on the couch and flopped down beside it, fuming with rage. Carla, who was watching TV, immediately paused the show and turned to her friend.

“Brenda, what’s wrong? You look like you’re about to explode,” Carla said, concerned.

“It’s Damien, he’s so unreasonable!” Brenda snapped, her voice shaking with emotion. “He accused me of doing nothing to help our marriage agreement, that all I do is spend his money like I’m some sort of gold digger.” Brenda said letting out a heavy sigh and buried her face in her hands.

Carla’s eyes widened in surprise. “What? That’s ridiculous! You’ve been doing everything you can to keep up with your end of the deal.”

“I know, right?” Brenda spat out. “And he goes around doing whatever he wants. It’s just not fair.”

“I can’t believe he would say that to you,” Carla said. “You’ve been the one keeping up with his bullshit all this while.”
