Chapter 24: Beautiful Desires

“What was she doing near the Wall? The wall that separates humans and werewolves?”

Apollo, ever stoic, merely shrugged in response. “I don’t know either. But it’s not yet confirmed if it’s her.” The Beta swallowed, “It’s only a speculation.”

“Why speculate at all?” The Alpha asked, putting a rather more ill-stricken face than a serious one.

“Because Katharine is not in the Shadow Rose Pack’s fortress.” It was so simple to say, but its graveness bore deeper in his heart. Silence only spanned for a few seconds before Alain scanned the party and the forest as if looking for someone. “She’s here, I think. She might have followed me.” Alain doesn’t care if he sounds delusional.

“How? The road is not safe, Alpha. Rogues are scattered everywhere, not to mention the Forest Dwellers that plagued these woods!”

“Well thank the Moon Goddess that we are so very far from the lair of those shitful flesh-eating monsters.”

“Ev
